ogivlado (2478), Zagreb, Croatia Jun 11, 2008 Canned(500ml). -Brewed by Daruvarska Pivovara for Billa Croatia.
Can looks very similar to austrian Gösser (all the colors are the same). It looks like Daruvarska, with last few supermarket beers, is becoming croatian Pécsi.
Something about the beer-rather below average brew. Pale golden coloured, medium sized soapy white head that went away for two seconds, dusty nose. Some weak hoppy and almost no maltiness with watery palate. Absolutely tasteless and far away from Staročeško.
heavy (536), Split, Croatia Jun 10, 2008 07/06 0.5 l can bought by Doggythedog, thanks. Poured golden body with medium bigger head that went down immediately. Honeyish malty and grass hopped aroma. Flavor... ehm, well, he was damn right I won’t be able to read my notes as I was drunk as an ass. I just remember it was not really good beer, and I would bet it’s not the same as Starocesko. Doggythedog (1076), Split, Croatia Jun 9, 2008 0.5l can bought at a Billa store in Zagreb. Poured a golden body with a big white head that went away fast. Dusty hoppy nose. The taste isn’t all that special. Some ok, but oh so ordinary hopiness, some dust, almost no maltiness. Nothing special and watery to boot. Now, it isn’t gross (haha) in any way, heck, if it was, you’d be reading one gross related joke after another, but it’s far from a good beer. I’ll be having this and Staročeško side by side next time. The percentages are oh too similar for comfort.
