750 Ml Bottle-Pours a cloudy brown color w/a slight head & good lacing. Sweet, fresh, Belgian aroma. Great fresh Belgian flavor of cane sugar, bread dough, yeast, dark fruit, & a touch of peat. Has a little spice to it. This was quite good, but that shouldn’t be a surprise from this brewer. Had never heard of it when I saw it in the store but bought it as soon as I saw St. Bernard on the label. Good stuff.

Bottle @ MicroBar, Clapham Nov’07. Murky reddish / brown pour. Aroma is vinous . dark fruits / chocolate / raisins. Taste is dark fruits / much the same as aroma really although doesn’t deliver that knockout blow on drinking.

75 cl. bottle pours a massive head if yer not careful. Dark, ruby- brown color. Has a subtle bread and butter smell. Very nice smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Pretty mild flavor of nine grain bread with a mild, citrusy hop bite to finish. A well balanced brew, but too mild in the flavor department.

This is a rather young version. It’s mahogany with a nice head and lace. The aroma has notes of caramel, fruit and aroma hops. The flavour has light sweetness, caramel, fruit, citrus and a nice hoppy bite in the finish. A charming beer indeed.

0.33 l bottle. Slightly hazy reddish brown color with thick head. Fruity, perfumed and toffeish aroma with notes of vanilla and alcohol. Toffeish, caramelly and yeasty flavor with dry woody spiciness. Dry spicy bitter finish. Kind of muddy.

Draught. Pours dark brown/black with a moderate off-white head. Aroma is toffee, Belgian-style yeast, and a hint of spice. Flavor is moderately sweet toffee malt, rather like a brown ale with a bit more complexity and the distinctive Belgian yeast character---maybe a Belgian analog to an Old Ale. Pretty good.

Semi-opaque brown with a speckled tan head. Metallic hop smell within a fizzy effervescent fog of indistinct aroma. Taste is dry with a cidery edge and light tartness that attends such high carbonation. Finishes cleanly with a residual tingle on the tongue

opaque brown body with avey nice thick white head. There is quite a bit of citrus-lemon and lime. There is also a yeast smell and a little bit of a root beer aroma. The flavor is actually pretty light with some nutty flavors and some cinnamon. This is pretty dry tasting but has a bit of a lingering sweetness- strange.
