Amber-brown body with a silky off-white head. Some funky barnyard, leather, furniture polish, and nice malt qualities. Has an element that reminds me of Orval. Interesting tartness and yeasty flavor. Considerably bitter finish. This beer is complex, nice, and unique.

bottle from brickskeller. I’m not sure where this came from, the label is very much not in english. however, i don’t care much, because this is an awesome brew. aroma is a little belgian funk, some bread and figs. body is medium/light, belying the medium brown color. flavor is mellow, nuts and malt, with an incredibly crisp finish for such a malty brown beer. this is simply great.

bottle-pours a murky turbid brown hue with a small off-white head. big spicy flavors-ginger, brett, and slight horseblanket funk. fizzy body, but thats ok for this style of beer and becomes more refreshing as it goes down. a little mineral characteristic in the finish. not bad!

poured a nice brown body with a malty light brown head that left thick lovely webbing on the glass..very pretty i must say.my nose was greeted with malts, corriander, yeast, and chocolate.the flavor was very unique and boasted a complex mix of yeast, corriander, chili powder, water, and choclaty malts.this is truley a well balanced dubbel.although i wonder, were is the "cave" flavor?? ;0)

Nice red-brown color with very creamy beige foam. Round nose of nuts, malts, spices, some honey and dry fruit. In the mouth a good malty attack with touches of nuts, spices and caramel. Great smooth afthertaste.

Bottle. Aroma of fresh, citrusy mold. Quite clear chestnut colour, semi-stable, creamy, light brown head. Flavour is not very malty for a dubbel, but dry in a nice way. Turns a bit more malty in the aftertaste. Creamy mouthfeel, mild carbonation.

nice amber color, big head. the aroma is too sweet, the flavor was distractingly sweet. spicey too, with a hint of vanilla and cinnamon.

Bottle at Smokeless. This is a nice spicy number that I wasn’t expecting from the Bernardus Brewery. There’s cinnamon blended with nutmeg and corriander as well. A nice fresh and peppy brew good for any occasion.
