Apr 4, 2005 Brown. Big creamy off white head. Dried fruit, sweet malt, and musk. Smell that cave action. Same in the taste though less dried dark fruits and some nuttiness. Smooth, full body. I wasn’t expecting to smell or taste the cave. Description of "unique" is spot on. Very good brew.

Mar 27, 2005 Bottled. A dark nut brown coloured beer with a long lasting cream coloured head. The aroma has raisins, caramel and candy sugar. The taste has more of the same together with some nuttiness and maybe a little dark spice. A very good beer from a very good brewery.

Mar 23, 2005 Deep mahogany color with a generous light tan head. Aroma of plum, black cherry and spices. Flavor starts lightly sweet with dark fruit and a hint of banana turning lightly tart and finishing kinda peppery and dry. Smooth creamy palate. Quite a belly warmer for only 6.5 % ABV. Happy Birthday Taylor.

Mar 22, 2005 Deeo red/brown with a small beaded off white head. Minimal floaters. Wheat and toasty bread dough aroma. Raisin, brown sugar, rye bread malts. Sour chocolate and lactic acid. Decent.

Mar 19, 2005 Pour is ruby brown with a great khaki head...smell is great, prunes, yeast, cookies, cloves and corriander...fantastic!!! taste is a little lighter than I expected based on the aroma...taste is spicy with corriander and sweet...not as complex as I’d hoped but delicious anyway...finish is warm and lasts...

Mar 14, 2005 Deep mahogany with a tight, creamy, off-white head. It has a complex and inviting aroma with notes of malt, spice, raisined fruit, and a little alcohol. Body is more subtle than expected - malt and spice with a vinous finish.

Mar 12, 2005 This beer is a dark mahogany color with a thick beige head that never goes away. Thin, sticky lacing. The aroma consists of yeast, spices and some banana. Medium-bodied with flavors of fruit (cherry mostly), yeast, spices and a bit of alcohol. The flavor falls off a bit and it would have been a lot better with more malt flavor. The finish is vinous and somewhat bitter. All in all a pretty good Dubbel.

Mar 12, 2005 waited so long to buy this. So many times I passed it by because of the $9 price tag. Was not dissapointed in the least. A lot going on here. A dubbel no doubt, but had some other craziness flying around. A lot of other people described the characteristics better in their ratings, so just look on down. All you need to know from me is, don’t pass it by just because of the price. Just try it once
