Re-sampled November 25, 2003 [a bottle expired May 2000 - in a vertical tasting to one expirering July 2005]: What a great difference cellaring can do. When the bottle was opened it rose out of the bottle - even after so many years - there was no lack of carbonation. The color dark brown so you almost couldn't see thru it (a lot darker than the fresh one) and with a small brown disappearing head. The aroma a lot more powerful than in the fresh version and fantastic of cloves and spices. The flavor is great and it explodes in the mouth with spices, cloves, and wood. All in all a heavenly beer experience. A good advice - keep this in Your cellar.
Sampled July 16, 2003: [7/2/8/4/16] The aroma is powerful, sweet, and fruity with notes of plums. The color is an unclear dark brown, it has an OK but disappearing head. The texture is very soft, and the flavor is rich on fruit, it prickles the tongue and contains hints of alcohol, plums, caramel, coriander, and a little earth. A very nice beer.

Nov 18, 2008 Bottle. Pours copper brown and has a very special nose. Aroma’s are apparently moisty (hence grot?) and tart. Very well balanced and very drinkable. Good stuff!
plovmand (777), Helsinge, Denmark
Oct 25, 2008 Bottle. Dark amber colour with a huge bubbly white head. Sweet spicy aroma with fruity notes. Very fruity flavour with sweet malts spices and some chocolate.

Oct 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark amber body with a lighter head. Sweet and malty with some light fruit, apple and pear some caramel malt and brown sugar. Good brew
hombrepalo (545), Chicago, Illinois, USA
Oct 20, 2008 Rich caramel color with a nice tan head and tons of lacing. Aroma is malty sweet. Flavors are tart and musty. Tastes of old aples/pears and I suppose an old Belgian cave. Very soft finish and mouthfeel.

Pours a murky copper colour, little carbonation and a great size head.
Smells like fruits and spices mixed together, though also some hops can vaguely be detected.
Taste is also spcies and fruits, can’t really make out which is dominant, very well balanced for that!
Nice in the mouth and goes down well with a small bit of alcohol warmth at the end.
