Commercial Description:
Grottenbier Flemish Ale is a unique ale produced by one of the great Flanders breweries. Pale golden in color with a white, dense foam and a flavor that is soft, creamy and slightly herbal. Aging will reveal new layers of flavor, but Grottenbier Flemish Ale is eminently drinkable anytime! A unique Belgian classic from the mind of Pierre Celis.

The color is a dark redish brown that is non transparent there is also no head at all. The nose has a nice tart aroma with cherry and other dark fruits. Initially there the beer is nice and tart with cherry and black currant. The beer has a nice finish that consists of toasted caramel malt and fruit. Overall it is a nice and refreshing beer and i just love how they mixed the tart and sutle fruit flavors so well.

Pour is a bright but hazy yellow with a very large head. Aroma is nice with a decent amount of yeastyness and citrus but also a nice dose of clove. Flavor is a bit weaker than the aroma but there is a nice clove, lemon and pepper taste. Finish is light and fizzy. Reminds of a Duvel.

Pours a cloudy straw yellow color with a medium sized fizzy white head. Nose is spice and yeast. Taste is somewhat weak and has an acidic and fizzy mouthfeel, but nothing too harsh on the palate. Also bit sweet. I think this beer is trying to be like oral. The alcohol content is well hidden which is one good aspect of this otherwise bland tasting brew. Thanks to Bman113VR for bringing this one over.

A bit dissapointed. Aroma of flowery hops, light yeast and some cinnamon. Pours with a small, white head covering a murky gold body. Slightly sour-yeast finish. Pretty dry mouthfeel with some fizzy carbonation.

Poured from bottle a golden brown with white frothy head. Aroma starts with nose tingling carbonation with lots of yeasty notes. Slightly floral and a bit of toast to the aroma. The initial taste almost stung the tongue from the acidic pop from the carbonation. The taste has lots of yeast, wheat toast, slight clove and nice sweet toffee malt traces.
