Commercial Description:
Grottenbier Flemish Ale is a unique ale produced by one of the great Flanders breweries. Pale golden in color with a white, dense foam and a flavor that is soft, creamy and slightly herbal. Aging will reveal new layers of flavor, but Grottenbier Flemish Ale is eminently drinkable anytime! A unique Belgian classic from the mind of Pierre Celis.

(750ml bottle) Purchased at Whole Foods in Seattle for $12. Pours a very cloudy, light orange body with a constant carbonation. Nose is mildly marshmallow, citrus and tart. Flavours of lemon, yeast and mild grains. Good.

had in celebration for Manchester United’s glorious VICTORY!! ...is quite spritzy, seems aged- not really in a good way ... musty, dust, honey aroma’s ... "the firetrucks will have to wait their turn" .. light hazy yellow-orange .. the mouthfeel makes it quite drinkable, but most will find it thin... not worth the jackson...

Bottle - 75 cl. Steamy when popped... Huge light brown and fluffy head. Deep brown clear body. The nose is filled with cloves, oranges and reminds me af a typical Christmas ale. The taste is sweet, fruity and a bit rancid. You clearly sense the alcohol. Not much of a finish.

750 ml split in Duvel glass. Hazy golden orange with lasting white head and lace. Yeasty lemon minty soapy aroma. Smooth Peach apricot vanilla sweet fruitiness with mild hop spicy bitterness. Lasting spiciness. medium body and carbo. Complex and flavorful, yet refreshing and quaffable, and favorite style of mine.

Aroma is a sour yeast scent with faint fruit tones. Color is golden yellow with good carbonation and a tight white head. Taste is creamy and sour. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a creamy feel. Finish comes at of the creamy feel with a slight sweetness that turns sour and gives you flavor that reminds me a by of a White Ale, with hints of coriander and a little clove. After taste has a nice Belgian yeast fruit taste with a bitterness on the end. This is just an amazing brew it has a bright White Ale flavor with complex layers.

750ml bottle. Pours a red brown opaque color with a small off white fizzy head. Nose is tart cherries with a sour over lay, straightforward and pleasing but not complex. Initial taste is vinous with more of sweet overlay. Mild cherries hint in before sweetness and caramel make way. Other red fruits linger. Finish balances with herbs, spices, caramel, bitter hops. Good palate duration, medium body, good head retention and spot lacing. Good beer, but really enticed me from the aroma since it was decently tart and didn’t display a similar tartness in the taste. Overall, refreshing and good.
