Commercial Description:
Brewed just for the holiday season, this very unique beer has an inviting nose resembling espresso and dark chocolate. The flavors are rich and warm, dark fruit, chocolate, coffee and roast. Finishing warm and smooth.

Black body with a brownish orange colored head. The aroma was strogn caramel with some milk chocolate and almonds. I guess it smells like a Mars bar. The taste has some cocoa with peanuts. There was also a strange artificially flavored pancake syrup finish. The body was thick and chewy.

Deep brown colored body with a brown head, very nicely formed and thick. Heavy smoke and char in the nose, ashy, dry, toasty, with heavy roast and some smaller notes of cream and some faint alcohol notes. Smooth at first but a bit harsh and roast-heavy over the middle. Okay but not spectacular.

Draft at the brewpub. Served in a 6 oz tulip glass. Poured an opaque black color. Head was thick and brown with good retention and lacing. Aroma was of espresso and dark chocolate. Medium bodied and slightly sweet with distinct coffee and chocolate flavors accented by subdued darkly roasted malt. The sugars peak toward the end and are accompanied by a prominent green leafy note and a warm splash of alcohol; almost like some type of herbal liqueur. Interesting beer.

On draught at the brewpub in downtown, Mr. Horeb, Wisconsin. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thick creamy tan head that has some good retention and lacing. Aroma of dark roasted malt, dark fruits, coffee and some flowery hops. Taste is full bodied, thick, creamy, low carbonation with flavors of dark chocolate, coffee and some toasted dark malt. Finish is high alcoholic, warm, smooth, creamy with a dark chocolate and coffee aftertaste. Quite the Winter Warmer for a Wisconsin December.
