Probiere (992), Iowa, USA May 2, 2007 Nutty toffee nutmeg aroma, sweet, smooth, medium finish, touch of roast and biscuit. Very, very nice. General_Gao (2579), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Nov 22, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. They were calling it ’English Brown Ale’. Clear dark brown color with some red around the edges. Head was thin and off white. Smelled of subdued malty milk chocolate. Flavor was light roasted malt, milk chocolate, and unsalted nuts. heemer77 (3786), Savannah, Missouri, USA Oct 22, 2006 Another one that had another name. It was called English Brown Ale, I assume it was the same beer. The body was dark brown that is a deep garnet when held to light. The head was light brown. The aroma had soem chocolate with tobacco and a little bit of roast character. The taste was chocolate with some bread crust. There was also peanuts and some toffee. This is nice and mild. Probably the best beer I had at the Troll. robertsreality (2462), Minnesota, USA Nov 9, 2005 Pale Copper Coloring with No Head. Light Nut and Malt Aroma.
