On tap at the Grumpy Troll Brew Pub. Poured a medium amberish color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel and a little fruity. Tastes follow suit. On the sweeter side.

On tap at the brewpub 7/31/09: Pours a transparent copper amber with a thin ring of white head. Lightly sweet toasty caramel and grainy nose has a touch of light fruits. Starts with average fullness and some grainy caramel malty sweetness along with a touch of light fruits before a bittersweet lightly toasty finish. Could use a little more assertive fresh hop character, but still a decent red.

Ruby red in color. Moderately sweet up front, then more husky, grainy, and even sour, with a bready/doughy, rye-like note over the middle, rough on the palate a little bit but overall it tastes fine.

Amber color with a moderate light khaki colored head. Scents of grains, bread dough and touch of diacetyl. Buttered bread seems to come to mind. Sweeter throughout. Just a bit of earthy hops in the finish and linger help bring this one back.

Copper body with a white head. The aroma was caramel with some light biscuits. The taste has some cherries and light bread crust. There were some hints of grapefruit rind. This was a great session style brew with a clean finish. I thought I got some plantains in the finish.

On draught at the brewpub in downtown Mt Horeb, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a fast dissolving white head that dissipates clean with no ring or film top. Aroma of light multi-grain biscuit dough, some citrus zest and a touch of dried dark berries. Taste is medium bodied, well-carbonated with flavors of dried biscuits, some light fruity pear and citrus zest. Finish is semi-dry with a mild bitterness that quickly turns to s crisp and clean cut aftertaste. A decent session amber ale.

On tap at Grumpy Troll. Poured clear medium orange with a short-lived cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up medium-skinned fruits and berries all over the nose with pale malty support.. worked surprisingly well. The flavor had a sweet core of caramel, berries, and honeysuckle surrounded by an array of spices and tart berry seeds.. sweet finish didn’t do much for me. Sweet overall and lighter-bodied on the palate.. went downhill from the initial smell.
