Dec 30, 2004 Beautiful looking beer. This beer does excite my tastebuds (mind you it was the last one I had, they were already pretty excited). A very good stout with no crappy aftertaste.

Feb 24, 2003 Dark mohagany color with a lasting light tan head. Sweet roasted malt and light coffee aromas. Light coffee and dark chocolate flavors with caramel/toffee undetones and finish. A touch thin, but quite flavorful.

Roast aroma. Black and smooth on the palate with some alcohol present. Crisp dry and slightly bitter burnt roast finish.

Dec 9, 2006 Draught pint at the brewpub, mid-October 2006. Translucent, near-black body with a decent lasting frothy off-white head and nice thick lacing....milky chocolate at first in a nose that rapidly becomes roastier and sharper and hints of licorice which doesn’t materialize enough for real excitement....some nice roastiness throughout the body, fairly fruity (berries) and slightly tart, dark chocolate touches....body could be fuller but it’s really quite drinkable, definitely the best thing I had on this visit.

Aug 1, 2004 Very dark brown body, essentially black. Thin creamy off-white head. Malt, espresso, milk chocolate and baker’s cocoa in the aroma. Too light mouthfeel for the flavor! This is like a dry stout with well-done coffee-malt notes. A richer mouthfeel and this could compete with NG’s Coffee Stout.

Oct 22, 2005 Black color with slightly red edges. Aroma of burnt coffee. Very watery body. The coffee is still there with a slight chocolate wrap.
