Jul 21, 2008 On tap at the Grumpy Troll Brew Pub. Poured a medium and cloudy orange color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caralem, citrus, and fruity. Tastes of citrus, caramel, melons, and fruity. Alcohol content well hidden.

Sep 3, 2008 Bottled: Pours a slightly hazy orange copper with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet toasty caramel and some piny resiny hops. Body starts with a good amount of residual crystal malty sweetness and some piny bittering and flavor hops before a semi-crisp, bittersweet finish. Not as hop forward as a lot of IIPAs, but still quite flavorful.

Jan 1, 2008 Orange and peach colored body with a whiteh head. Sweet citrus and mandaring orange notes, very crisp on the tongue, very fruity but not candy-like, with a moderate bitterness, overall quite well placed on the tongue. Refreshing, balanced and very well made.

Oct 28, 2007 Very cloudy light golden color with a smallish, but lasting white head. Aromas of malt, floury biscuits, light dough and simple yeast, not a heavy hops influence in the nose with just a touch of mild pine. Light start in the flavors with some herbal hops. Middle and end shine with loads of malt and light ruby red grapefruit. Finish is again full with a touch of alcohol and tons malt - lightly toasted and just a maltheads dream. My kind of american IIPA.

Jan 9, 2008 Updated: Sep 2, 2008Bottled this time. I gave it a slightly lower score, but still enjoyed it. The character was a little more muted. Pretty much the same notes. Original tap rating follows. Dark gold body with a slight haze and an off white head. There was lots of grapefruit in the aroma along with musk and dandelion. The taste was grapefruit with some biscuit balance. There was also some toffee with pine in the finish. A nice well balanced IIPA, but will not please the hop juice desiring hop heads.

Mar 31, 2008 Growler. Poured a hazed copper with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel and candy like malt with a mild citrus hop note. The flavor is a mix of citrus and caramel with a sugar finish and moderate bitterness. Nice warmth and a medium body.
