Thx to Joris again who made this Bock marathon possible. 3rd experience of the day. Bottle conditioned and poured a hazy dark brown beer with a beautifull head, little creamy and little lacing. In the nose I sense a faint odour of cement (mastic) quite unpleasant, some candi sugar and chocolate. Taste is way over roasty, chocalate and licorice flavours are dominant. Slight hoppy and dry bittery aftertaste.

Tap @ The Dutch Bockbier Festival, 2009.
Pours deep chestnut, almost black. Small, lightly creamy, off-white film head. Aroma is sweet, malty, some caramel. Medium carbonation, okay rather dry mouthfeel. Flavour is lightly spicy, sweet at first, quite a lot of liqourice, malt. Fine dry finish with some berries.

0.3 l bottle. Hazy mahagony color. Sweet aroma with strong raisin and plum note as well as some solvent. Malty sweetish flavor with toffee, raisins, plum, chocolate and licorice. Full bodied. Hint of alcohol sharpness. OK Dutch bock.

Alcohol too overpowering for my taste and it’s also quite bitter. Smell is great with chocolate and banana, foamy head is nice to bite in. One of the better Grunn beers, but hard for your insides.

300ml Bottle - Very dark brown, with a foamy tan head and some red tinges. Roasted and malty aroma with hints of dried fruit. Malty and slightly spicy taste, with some fruity and roasted elements. The finish is malty, fruity, sweet and slightly chewy.

0,3 liter fles gekregen van collega Egbert. Egbert drinkt slechts bier (pilsener). Heb ik even geluk. Het schuim was zo verdwenen. Jammer. De smaak was erg goed. Ook al drink je dan een herfst bier in de lente.

Bottle 30cl. @ [ Back2Bock Tasting ].
Clear dark amber color with a large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, dark bread, hay, roasted, light hoppy, grass. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, and a dry finish. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20081115]

On tap @ ’t Pothuiske. Deep dark brown colour, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and cacao powder. Flavour is dry, roasted malts, bitter chocolate. Bitter finish. Really nice bock, not nearly as sweet as other Dutch bock beers.
