Commercial Description:
"Gruut" is an ancient Flemish coin. In medieval Ghent, brewers used Gruuts to pay taxes on the richness of their brew. Gentse Stadsbrouwerij has revived this ancient tradition with Gruut Amber Ale. Enjoy it’s rich taste, deep copper color, and smooth-drink-ability.

11.2oz bottle. Copper-amber color, with a relatively mellow and subdued aroma for the style. Rich and malty sweet, this one is highly drinkable while still remaining full of character. An excellent Belgian Amber.

Bottle, 33 cl. Tasted yesterday @ home (bought at Hopduvel thx to Ignace) Clear amber color, with white head. Aroma malts, bit caramel, fruits, bit yeast. Medium body. Taste sweet start, malts, fruits touch, little spice. Good regular, amber ale.

11.2oz bottle, courtesy of nuplastikk. Thanks, Greg! Copper pour, with small fizzy white head, with lots of carbonation. Dark fruits and yeast in aroma. Flavor also has candi sugar, spice, with a tart finish.

bottle @ Allen Street Hardware Buffalo NY. Pours a deeper caramel amber. Aroma is somewhat sweet, biscuity (i think that may be the first time I used that term) Taste was caramel malt driven with some yeast & bready taste. i didnt mind this one at all. Similar to Rare Vos

Savannah, Ga. Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 11.2 oz bottle. Pours a nice medium copper with a light but long lasting white head. Pleasant aroma of molasses, brown sugar and some faint fruit. Falvor has some of the same accents with the brown sugar notes most prominent. Hints of apples in the finish. Flavors are quite muted but an enjoyable little Belgian. Sticky enough mouthfeel.
