afireinside96 (493), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 1, 2008 330ml bottle served in a tulip glass, purchased at State Line Liquors in Elkton, MD. Upon opening it foamed over immediately. Pours dark amber-red with a large off-white head. Smells sweet and caramel-like. Tastes of biscuit, caramel, & doughy yeast. The taste reminds me of a lot of German lagers. Finishes very dry. Pretty boring.
puzzl (1811), New York, New York, USA Sep 23, 2008 Free bottle. Pineapple, marshmallow, and cheap flower aroma. Nice head. Slight Belgian yeast in the flavor, followed by a malt-sweet and lightly spicy finish. Some lemon and peach. Very little complexity. Glad I got this free, as it ain’t worth its price tag at all. Jerre (1396), Waregem, Belgium Sep 21, 2008 Bottle, 33 cl. Tasted yesterday @ home (bought at Hopduvel thx to Ignace)
Clear amber color, with white head.
Aroma malts, bit caramel, fruits, bit yeast.
Medium body.
Taste sweet start, malts, fruits touch, little spice.
Good regular, amber ale.
cheapdark (1597), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 20, 2008 Clear iced tea near brown yellow sparkling appearance. Thin foam alibaster coating. Strongish biting sensations. Aroma is volatile wet hay. Processed hoppish appeal, yet not extremely hoppy bitter. Heavy maltish alky impressions. Uncanny sweetness in the finish. Overall dizzying effect. alexsdad06 (662), Ohio, USA Sep 7, 2008 11.2 oz. bottle courtesy of Tmoney99. Pours a clear golden amber with a fleeting medium sized white head. The aroma had mild notes of caramel, bread, dust, and light fruit. The flavor was very underwhelming with weak caramel malt, bread, cereal, fruit, and little or no hop presence. This one was disappointing, especially after having the Wit. scraff (1667), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 26, 2008 12oz bottle, courtesy of nuplastikk. Thanks, Greg! Sparkling dark orange, off white head. Soft aromas of musty caramel with undercurrents of bready florals. Hints of spiced dark fruit and earthed grains round to a light citric and floral bittersweet finish. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Could use some recipe work...
