Gruut was the spice mix they used instead. Nice experiment but for my taste it lacks the hops balance. It has a nice apperance but the taste and palate is rather disapointing. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 15, 2009 Not a complex brew at all. Nice spicy aroma though and a very fruity entrance. But somehow this is where the whole experience ends. Not a noteworthy aftertaste, no bitterness, clearly a lack of hops. This makes this beer not very beer-like. It’s more like water that has been enhanced to resemble beer. diabel (1372), Aarschot, Belgium

Fresh aroma of hops and flowers, the hop aroma is quite sharp. There is also some spicyness in the aroma (pepper). Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour. Quite nice. The aroma is very nice, but the flavour is quite dull. No complexity, badly balanced. anders37 (4779), Malmö, Sweden
