I really enjoy this brew! Granted its not as "stout" as regular Guinness, but it has many redeeming qualities. It’s pours black with a thin head that lingers. Flavor kinda reminds me slightly of cola. Aroma is nice, this is a very drinkable brew!

Jet black pour, off-white persistent head. Aroma is fainter than I expected: soft roasted grains, a bit meaty, some oatmeal. Taste is (again) quite light on: some nutty chocolate grain but very clean and tame. Also a hint of alcohol, and slight coconut. Slightly watery and too intense carbonation.

Roasted flavors with subtle tones of malts and chocolate. Aroma is somewhat bland but the appearance is terrific. Jet black with light white foam.

I like how it poured - almost black. No light can pass thru! Thin head with dark coloring. Hints of roasted malts in the aroma, some sweetness. Roasted malts jump out in the flavor, not very sweet, which is ok with me. Medium bodied with hop bitterness. I wish I could find this on tap! I like this stout, no nitro needed.

On tap at Rosie McCann’s in Santa Cruz. Pours very dark brown with a small tan head, a far cry from the classic cascading Guinness appearance. Aroma is chocolate malt balls and grains. Flavor is more chocolatey that I remember regular Guinness being. Aside from that there are some ashy and grainy notes. Nothing too robust. Pretty decent, I like it better than the original.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a very small tannish head. Nose is roasty with some dry malted notes and some light chocolate notes. Plate is a little furry with a rich carbonated feel to it. very active. Flavor is roasted and malted milk with some nice chocolate notes.

Pours out black - a relatively clean black; not oily like most stouts - with a medium head consistent with more of an ale. The first thing I noticed in both the aroma and the flavor was the roasted malts. It finishes like an ale with quite a bit carbonation for a stout. I still prefer Guinness Extra, but who doesn’t?
