tastes very similar to the extra stout i thought. i liked it a little bit more. a little roasted nuts, caramel, some chocolate and a tad bit of hops. nice effort from guinness in a fun little bottle that makes it look like it would be the worlds best beer. its not even close but its better than average.

....poured a black with a small tan head. Nose was pretty good, berries, roasted malt, slight coco, and a hint of hops in the finish. It was pretty good, but not as smooth, of course because of the method of carbonation. Worth trying.

Pours a dark brown, with fizzy light tan head. Malt, some roastiness, chocolate, and a hint of hops. Pretty standard, not very interesting.

This is good, much better then the extra stout, but in no way does it come close to Guiness Draught. Basically this is just a typical stout with some of the nice Guinness flavor. The special consistancy is just not there. Still a good drink..

Pours black with no head. Slightly tan on top. Aroma of roasted malts and some caramel. Thin body. Flavor of roasted malts, caramel, and some hops bitterness. Very thin and weak lacing. Quite average and somewhat disappointing for an anniversary stout.

Being a fan of Guinness Beers, I was expecting a lot for the 250th anniversary beer. What I got was a boring ale. I had to reveiw and up my original scores to avoid grading to low for not meeting expectations. I could go into the detail, but at it the core of my thoughts is that this is a very average english ale, nothing interesting, nothing I can’t get from a 100 other brewers. Skip the 250, and have another Guinness Stout!

Black pour with a thick beige head. Malty nose, very Guinness-like. Flavor is sweeter than the original but kind of tart as well. Earthy with a dry roastiness underneath. Not bad.

Aroma of cigarette butts. Pours like a normal Guinness, but a tad lighter. Monstrous head. Chocolate and butter, extremely smooth. These sound like good traits, but this is a bad beer. Up front taste of sour milk, yuck. Weak aftertaste of roasted malt. Disappointment.
