I think I liked the bottles better than the beer (nice shape, good for the homebrew once I soak off the labels). This was a good beer, but for a "250 Anniversary" edition, it really didn’t distinguish itself from the "normal" Guinness except for a bit deeper roast, with a slight touch of spice at the end (someone below said anise, which seems spot on). Slightly watery mouthfeel. Good beer, but nothing special, again especially considering the "Anniversary" label... Strykzone (1478), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 12, 2009 This looks and smells a lot like a Guinness. It does have more oatmeal, and hops with more of an anise profile and a bit more sour tasting. A better beer in my opinion. One question: "triple hops"? JFGrind (1352), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA

Served up nicely in an ’official’ Guinness 250 English pint glass. More middle of the road Dry Stout that was easy drinking. grebs (71), Ohio, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 10, 2009 Tap. Brown with slow disappearing white head. Just a thinner version of the draught stout. Really nothing to get excited about in any way. A ploy to make a buck I guess. Ryan82SM (252), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 9, 2009 Aroma of roasted coffee and some dark fruit. Pour was solid black with creamy mocha head, not as carbonated as regular Guinness. Flavor had the roasted coffee, but some ripe raspberry as well. Palate was creamy and smooth. Enjoyable, more traditional version of the classic, but nothing outstanding. WakeandBake (430), Greenville, Michigan, USA
