A borderline light and refreshing stout - never thought I’d say that... Not bad, but I’m a bit disappointed for their 250th anniversary... why not something crazy like an impy stout or something? maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 2, 2009 Bottle. Pours pitch black in color with a smallish, lively cocoa brown head. The aroma is roasted coffee with a touch of sweetened cocoa. Upon tasting, there isn’t much different from Guinness Extra Stout, aside from this version being a touch sweeter. That aside, happy birthday Guinness. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 2, 2009 roasty, bit thin, not as watery as regular guinness. not bad, but not anything to really write home about. certainly better than the original, though. demitriustown (698), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 1, 2009 Bottle: Aroma is malty, somewhat of a chocolate scent, bready and creamy. Appearance is a coca-cola pour with a thick tan head that lingers for quite a while. Taste is bready, malts, chocolate, and somewhat dry. Overall, an easy drinking stout like Guinness usually is. Cheers!
