| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 19, 2009 Alright stout. I had very high expectations for this beer...they came up a little bit short. Flavor was definitely different from a normal Guinness, but it not that great. Poured like a Guinness, but it had a more metallic finish, and it was slightly sweeter. halfonit (457), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 18, 2009 I’m a little bit let down by this one. Has the typical black color, but there’s hardly any head; and what there was is gone within a minute. Aroma is of malts with a little bit of chocolate. Taste is malty with aluminum bitterness. Maybe the 275th anniversary will be better. Block (369), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 16, 2009 Pour looks very similar to straight Guinness. Black with a tan head. Flavor is similar also however this one seems to be overly carbonated and not nearly as creamy. jason (1623), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 16, 2009 Draft. Nice black body with creamy head. Aroma is light chocolate and malt. Flavor is bitter, chocolate malt and earthy. I prefer the original. nathan30533 (145), Dahlonega, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 15, 2009 Pours very dark with white head. Little lacing down the glass. Good overall taste not much to smell. Good overall brew. Not what I expected... but good. 1010 (208), Marysville, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 15, 2009 Pours a dark color with a nice thick tan head. Looks much like the normal stuff. You can taste the difference between this version and the normal stuff. This has a malty taste and much stronger. Really enjoyed this one. Brigadier (1240), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA

Being a slow day I decided to give this a try for the heck of it. It has been a long time since I last tried Guinness and maybe this is a reason to try it again. As it turns out my suspicions were correct. This is an average stout (at best); you are far better off with whatever local is available unless you end up somewhere where their idea of "exotic beers" are Corona and Heineken.
Aroma / Appearance - The deep brownish body was sufficiently dark to keep my interest. Along with it came a thick and rich eggshell head that released ash, inexpensive chocolate, and dark fruit. It’s about the same as regular Guinness which should come as no big surprise.
Flavor / Palate - Licorice, smoke, blackberries, and medium grade chocolate blend easily and lightly on the tongue. Sessionable as you would want it cruises down the throat with a clean slightly dry finish. Not in the same ballpark as many micro alternatives it may nonethless be one of the better mass produced options on the market. Still for $9.99 a sixer you can do much better elsewhere.
