on tap, pour black with a very thin to non-existant head. Aroma is roasted malt and some pine/hops. Flavor is standard guinness with a more pronounced roastedness and some lingering hop bitterness in the finish. Meh.....

I smell Guinness with more hops. Great aroma. Near black with a beige head that surprisingly goes away. Not much lace. Tastes like Guinness with extra hops which I personally love. Bit more carbonated which makes it a bit lighter on taste buds but it’s still very good. Overall, I really enjoyed this beer. A toast to Guinness and it’s 250 year anniversary and to another wonderful 250 more!

4/30/2009: Guinness 250 is near black in color with a thin, mocha-colored crown. The yeasty aroma contains Belgian chcoolate and is slightly rich in character. This beer is DRY - much more dry that the regular draught Guinness. It has unsweetened chocolate and a soft bitterness. It is medium-bodied and very smooth. I figured that Guinness 250 would pretty much taste like the usual Guinness, but I was wrong. This is more like and extra dry Irish Stout and I actually like this a bit more than the reguler version. Well done Guinness!

On tap at Ginger Man. Black as typical Guinness, (was not on nitro, tho)- so head was not as creamy, and no lacing. Heavily toasted, almost beefy aroma, you can smell the hops. Taste was not as creamy-smooth as regular Guinness (again, was not on nitro), but seemed a little hoppier than regular. Was lighter than expected, medium carbonation & clean finish.

WTF? I enjoy Guinness Draught regularly, at least once a month, and it is one of my favorite brews. To see that the good folks of Guinness were releasing a special 250th anniversary edition got me a bit excited. So I tried it the first chance I got, and was disappointed. It is fine. Okay. Not bad, or even pretty good. But compared to regular Draught or Extra Stout, it seems watered down, more carbonated, and less flavorful. There is some hops and coffee flavor, and it looks and tastes good, but it is certainly not anything special, which and anniversary brew should be. Glad I tried it, but I’ll buy a Beamish or oung’s or something the next time I reach for a Stout. Nicely dry, but kind of lacking in body and taste. A major let down, not because there is anything terribly wrong with it, but because my expectations for a $10 6-pack form the Guinness crew were too high, apparently.

Pours out a dark brown, basically black with a small fizzy head. Aroma of some roasted malts, coffee, maybe a little chocolate. Watery with some roasted malts and slight coffee flavor, basically a watered down foreign stout.

Draft and bottle--Has a fizzy tan head, but without the "alive inside" action of the traditional guinness. I agree that it is thinner and more carbonated, but it has a deeper coffee and hop taste than the regular Guinness. Meg O’Malleys.

Bottle. Poured deep red black with thick white head. Much lacing. Very little aroma, a little malt, a little roast. Very thin flavour. a little coffee, a little roast. Over carbonated for a stout. Weak finish. Disappointing, one expects better from Guinness.
