bottle. pours a deep brown with a solid thick white head. some lingering roasted malt aromas... medium smooth body with some chocolate, coffee and big roasted malts coming through... nice soft finish with more roasted notes and some bigger chocolate notes at the end. I enjoyed this one better than the traditional Guinness... it seems to have a bit more depth and a bit more flavor overall.

Tallahassee, Fl. - Market Square Liquors - 11.2 oz bottle. Pours a very dark ruby red - fading to black with an ever present khaki colored head. Aroma of cold coffee and licorice. Flavor has some good bittersweet chocolate notes, a hint of kids cereal, hint of licorice and some coffee. Not bad at all. Good chalky mouthfeel.

Thanks to BConley for this. Pours black with a thick creamy off white head. Roasted grain, chocolate malt in the aroma. Taste is chocolate malt, roasted grains more carbonated than I thought it would be, yet not too bad taste wise. Slightly heavier than the original and not too bad.

Bottle. Pours a great color, 3/4" tan head. Aromas actually pretty nice, chocolate and coffee. Flavors are a little thin, but overall nice. Semi-sweet overall, with chocolate but there are also some nice roasted flavors. Happy 250th guinness!

(330 ml bottle from McKean and Charles) Kind of meh...Pours dark brown with a tall tan head that recedes to a rocky finger or so. Aroma of light chocolate and coffee, perhaps a touch of sour. Mouthfeel fairly smooth, a little watery, a little dry, perhaps a bit chalky. Flavor of rather mild chocolate, mostly milk chocolate with just a touch of coffee roast. Really more of a porter taste than a stout. OK, just kind of lightweight.

On tap at the Icehouse in Punta Gorda, FL. Opaque black pour with a creamy white head as you might expect. Nice roasted flavor, pretty much a better version of the original. I love dry stouts, and this one is pretty good.

Single bottle buy from the Orland Park, IL, Binny’s Beverage Depot: This pours a deep mahogany body, clear around the edges, with a short-lived tan head. The aroma is kind of light - roasted malt, coffee, molasses, and mineral water. The flavor’s about the the same and also a bit light. The finish is dry and lightly smokey. Just okay.

Source: 12 oz bottle from Archers in Norris.
Glass: Pint glass.
Appearance: Black pour with a one finger brown head.
Aroma: Smoke and roasted malt.
Flavor: Roasty with a hint of smoke and a fruity finish.
Palate: Medium/full body with mild carbonation.
Overall: Not as good as the regular, but enjoyable.
