Pours very dark brown with a brown head. The aroma is coffee, chocolate, salt, dark fruit, and licorice. It tastes thin and roasted with a salty bitterness and hints of licorice and ash. Nothing too special about this stout.

Pour was dark with huge fluffy head, no lacing. The aroma was toasty but kind of off. The flavor was really sweet dark roasted/burnt malt and some nuttiness. The flavor was flat but the beer was soda-like fizzy (if that makes any sense). Not particularly enjoyable.

Pours watery black with an understated head, at least from the bottle. Subtle nutty aroma. Flat soda mouthfeel without too much complexity. In my opinion, a little too much “drinkability” for a stout. Reminiscent of the flagship brew, but I’m not sure it offers an improvement.

12 oz. Black with a lasting cream of bubbles. Sweetish graham cracker aroma with some slight roast. Flavor is similar with a bit more roast than the aroma. Smooth medium body is watery and drinkable.

practically black colored body with large and tight tan head and average lacing; earthy roasted grains in the aroma; not really tasty - watery with subtle sweet notes and acidity that I didn’t care for; fizzy mouthfeel; okay brew - not much of an anniversary for a classic.

11.2oz bottle. Poured a deep brown color with a huge sized off white head. Aromas of earthiness, dirt, and roasty. Tastes of earthiness, caramel, roast, and lighter coffee. Lacing left on the glass. Body on the thinner and weaker side.

On draft, deep dark pour, no head to speak of. Smells nice toasted malt and a little bitter. Taste is all over the place...first a litlte chocolate/coffee (which is OK), then finishes watery and a strange roasted/burnt sweetness (not very nice). I’d prefer normal Gunness.

Dark clear black pour with thin brown head, aroma slightly toasted biscuit, flavor is nutty, sweet, malty, finishes light, smooth and no bitterness... much preferred over the original stuff.
