| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 14, 2009 practically black colored body with large and tight tan head and average lacing; earthy roasted grains in the aroma; not really tasty - watery with subtle sweet notes and acidity that I didn’t care for; fizzy mouthfeel; okay brew - not much of an anniversary for a classic. hopdog (5609), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 13, 2009 11.2oz bottle. Poured a deep brown color with a huge sized off white head. Aromas of earthiness, dirt, and roasty. Tastes of earthiness, caramel, roast, and lighter coffee. Lacing left on the glass. Body on the thinner and weaker side. alagnak (359), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 13, 2009 On draft, deep dark pour, no head to speak of. Smells nice toasted malt and a little bitter. Taste is all over the place...first a litlte chocolate/coffee (which is OK), then finishes watery and a strange roasted/burnt sweetness (not very nice). I’d prefer normal Gunness. ljstephenson (114), Lawton, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 13, 2009 Dark clear black pour with thin brown head, aroma slightly toasted biscuit, flavor is nutty, sweet, malty, finishes light, smooth and no bitterness... much preferred over the original stuff. unclemattie (2432), Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jun 11, 2009 330ml bottle. Pours a dark chocolate color, hint of red hue. Light brown colored head. It looks nothing like a original Guinness Draught. Much lighter bodied in appearance. Aroma has a roasted chocolate nose, some woodiness, light smoke. Nice burnt character, not charred, just right. A bit more carbonated than I expected. Flavor has a nice earthy bitterness. Very dry flavor. Nice roasted barley flavor, with some cocoa, mostly wood flavors in there as well. A hopped, unsweetened, dark chocolate malt, ice cream soda. It seems to be like a slightly heavier Porter than a Dry Stout. Which I like. Truthfully, I would prefer the people at Guinness to keep this beer around. It would be disappointing to retire it and not rename it after their 251st Anniversary. My 1950th Rating. agl108 (509), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 11, 2009 On draft at The Ship English Pub, Gatlinburg. Poured dark brown with a skim of head. Slightly roasty flavor with light notes of coffee and chocolate. Very watery mouthfeel. Odd for a stout, seemed more like a brown ale. Not worth revisiting. dnstone (232), Mons, Belgium
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jun 11, 2009 Carbonated and light...didnt totally dislike it but probably wont order another. I was hoping they would go the opposite direction with this beer and give guiness some more balls. beerfest5 (200), Simsbury, Connecticut, USA
