| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 5, 2009 Dark brown pour with small tan head. Very thin for a Guinness, slightly less of coffee taste and more carbonation than I expected. Disappointing. JamesD (198), Centreville, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 4, 2009 Pours the usual Guinness black with a rich coffee aroma with hints of the lactic souring from the Guinness lactic mixing. Notes of toffee and sour cherry are present. The flavor is roasty but has a little bit of zing to it that you won’t usually find in Guinness draught. NomDeBeer (400), Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 4, 2009 Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Taste could benefit from more roasted malt and coffee flavors. Thin body. Decent beer. Drinkable but not remarkable. ben4321 (1060), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 4, 2009 Location: Had this on tap at RiRa in Bethesda the Saturday before Memorial Day, and I’m also drinking it now from a 12 oz bottle I got at Gilly’s, 6/4/09
Aroma: Roasty malts, coffee, chocolate, caramel, nose is similar to the Foreign Extra
Appearance: Dark brown color, nice thick few finger brown head, some decent lacing
Flavor: Roasty, sweet malty flavor
Palate: Light enough for the style, medium bodied
Overall Impression:
It’s pretty decent, similar to their other beers. It’s better then the normal Guinness, but not quite up to the level of the Foreign Extra in my opinion. NDbeerdrinker (164), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 4, 2009 Pours dark brown with thin tan head. Aroma is faint chocolate and coffee, but nothing stands out. Taste is pretty much like regular Guinness. Nothing special about this beer at all. yemenmocha (426), Glendale, Arizona, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Jun 3, 2009 Can’t tell a difference to the draft, other than carbonation. Both are so light in flavors.
This 250th pours medium to full dark brown with off-tan head. Nose is light with roasty components and some whoppers nougat candy. Palate is light bodied with roasty flavors up front, some sweet caramel/chocolate in the middle, and a semi-sweet caramel finish. Easy drinking. derkaiser (24), Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 3, 2009 I prefer the 250th over the regular guinness. Its slight tweak just edges it over for me. Still one of the most overrated beers though. Dfonorow (35), New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 3, 2009 It pours an extremely dark caramel color, almost black, with a small foam ring of a head. It smells of barley and roasted malt. It is ashy and dry. There is not much to the aroma as it is just a basic stout. Upon tasting, I noticed how smooth it was, a very good amount of carbonation, and a hint of roasted malt. Overall, it was a very good brew for being mass manufactured around the country.
