This bitter is second only to the stout. Allthatisevil (48), alabaster, Alabama, USA

A simple, fairly sweet taste with no nasty after-taste. A good 1st stab at ale by Guinness. Too easy to do 12 cans though. fiulijn (7520), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

Smooth, a bit malty, caramel, correct bitterness. Easy to drink, quite simple. wiganstar (7), Wigan, England does not count | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 9/20 | Oct 31, 2003 one down from John Smiths.

Not bad at all, though everytime I take it quality and taste differ. Deep amber colour, high (of course) creamy head. Fruity and hoppy notes. Dry metallic aftertaste. project359 (3), Greenville, Texas, USA does not count | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 20, 2008 I used to love drinking this in England. Very creamy brew, reddish in color and pours nice. Alas, I haven’t had this since coming to the States. To enhance the flavor, drink while eating chocolate (Cadburys recommended, Hersheys would kill it), I find the two compliment each other.
