badgerben (2984), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Sep 21, 2002 Updated: Sep 15, 2007 My first legal beer and still my favorite that can be readily found. I originally rated this beer much higher, but I am far past due to re-rate this one. It’s a good, solid beer, but the flavor is not as bold as most stouts. Little coffee and malt tastes. A good standard.
doogie (16), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 3, 2008 On draught most places I go - It’s black, and I never detected a lot of aroma. What I like about Guinness is the balanced taste: some malt and some hops that blend for a nice flavor with a slightly bitter finish. It’s my session beer - Irish session - when I like to enjoy the pleasantness that beer has to offer, and still stay sharp enough to play music Dr_Funk (31), Sorumsand, Norway Jul 3, 2008 On tap at Balsam cockail Lounge, Oslo.
Pours beautifully. Nothing compares to its appearance. A bit short on the nose, but nice and dry with roasted malt and lingering aftertaste. A classic Tomyetoedt33 (5), Cedarass, Wisconsin, USA does not count Jul 2, 2008 This Is such a fantastic beer i suggest everyone to try it however, it is deffinetly not for everyone as i have heard from many a person that they think it tastes like canned bread. To me it tastes like gold. Ober (187), Best, Netherlands Jul 1, 2008 A black as black can be colored beer. The head is small, it’s beige, it’s foamy and it stay on the beer. The aroma of roasted malts, with some coffee smell. The taste is smooth, and tin coffee, roasted malts with a little chocolat. It has a bitter aftertaste. UriahHeep (18), Georgia, USA Jun 30, 2008 Served in a chilled pint glass. I’m somewhat disappointed with the Draught. It’s nowhere near as thick and creamy as Extra Stout. It pours a similar deep amber/almost black color imbued with caramel tones. There is a roasty character to this beer, but it is a little too thin and watery. Leaves a nice bitter sensation on the palate. Strong aroma and taste of coffee. At the end of the pint it left a pool of bittersweet nitrogen foam, which I enjoyed.
