Travlr (700), Washington, Washington DC, USA Nov 8, 2009 Draught in Koeln, Germany, but poured by Patrick from Dublin. Black, typical storm in the glass, thick tan head. Aroma of burnt espresso. Creamy mouthfeel with an edge of roasted coffee and a hint of chocolate, bitter finish. Nearly as good as the irish version, and much better than the American one. lithilorn (169), Covilhã, Portugal Nov 7, 2009 Black body and light head. Roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Light sweet coffee and chocolate flavor, dry and little bitter. A good stout to drink. maupie (593), Roosendaal, Netherlands Oct 31, 2009 After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity not wall adhesive light brown foam collar which was fine and evenly of structure. The beer also contained no carbonic acid in the glass.
The beer has a clear black color and a hoppybitter taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppybitter with a light roasted malty touch. This beer smells malty. sound67 (157), Offenbach, Germany Oct 10, 2009 33cl brown bottle. Pitch-black impenetrable colour, small offwhite head that collapses quickly, no lacing. Low carbonation, creamy mouth feel. Aroma of toffee and coffee beans. Taste is semi-sweet cocoa and espresso, with bitter finish and dry after taste. Much more likeable than the regular "Guinness Draught", this one - thankfully - misses out on the Draught’s cold-coal note. Good, not great stout. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Oct 1, 2009 Dark brown with a lasting tan head. Mild roasted aroma of toffee, caramel and chocolate. Dry and roasted, rather thin flavour with a roasted bitter finish. Finn (1422), Tromsø, Norway Sep 10, 2009 Flaske 0,33l kjøpt på Systembolaget i Kiruna. Dyp brunrød farge. Nesten svart. Helhetsinntrykket er imidlertid ganske kjedelig. luttonm (275), Belgrade, Serbia Sep 9, 2009 33cl bottle in Belgrade. Surprisingly strong roast coffee, earthy notes. Much stronger flavor than I remember from draft guinness, harsher too. Tart, bitter and dry. Large foamy head with chocolate acid on the nose. Quite nice. MikeKeller (38), Finland Sep 8, 2009 Updated: Sep 22, 2009Bottle from Systembolaget. Black beer with beautiful light brown head. Aroma is quite rich with coffee, roasty maltines and several other tastes I can’t describe. Very enjoable dry stout!
