Pours a clear black (you know what I mean) with a brown head. Aroma is quite smokey, with a milky sweetness and some caramel. Quite suprised by the amount of smoke really. The flavour is fairly dry, again quite smokey and caramely with some roast malt flavours too, perhaps chocolate more than anything, towards the finish it leans to the thin side and the finish is downright watery. So promising at the start, such a bad finish. I guess thats guinness.

This is a Japanese Bottle, labeled as ’Extra Stout’, but it appears to be manufactured by Sapporo. Anyway, pours black with non-widgety normal head brown colored head. Smells like some kind of Japanese food, can’t put my finger on it, maybe something that has noodles. Flavor is nearly nonexistent until the finish, which is slightly bitter strong coffee. The harshness of the flavor coupled with the excessive carbonation make the beer one of the least smooth stouts I’ve tasted. Real Guinness ain’t half bad, I don’t understand why Guinness thinks its a good idea to outsource its brewing to crappy local brewers. Booo.

I usually buy these by the German border. It’s black with a nice dark head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and licorice and the mouthfeel is a bit thicker than the Draught and Original. The flavour has notes of bitter chocolate and licorice, and it has a nice bitterness. In the finish I also pick up some coffee notes. It’s nice!

(Bottle) Pours dark, dark brown. Cocoa, coffee powder and roasted malt in aroma with a dry-ish touch. A bit salty. Some wet, sour wood burning. Tiny liquorice notes. A very clean flavour with sour coffee and a light dry ending. A tiny bit peppery aftertaste. Light to medium body.

Beautiful dark reddish color with great head. Burnt malt and coffee flavor. No sweetness but bitter chocolade and slightly watery.
