THE Beer. Pitch black, browny head - very big & bubbly, lasts for a long time. The taste is unbeatable, what can I add here, everyone knows it. Feels great on the palate, very bitter aftertaste. Awesome, legendary stout. Almost Godlike.

Pours Darth Vader black with a massive, creamy beige head, looks like soft clouds that i just want to throw myself in (but i didn´t). Leaves good lacing also. Roasted malts, slight chocolatey aroma with some hints of brown sugar. Flavour is burnt, acidic, coffee-ish, with a sparkling mouthfeel. Not as smooth as the draught. Finishes of somewhat bitter. It has a little touch of bread/toast in the aftertaste. A laidback beer, where none of the flavours are sticking out.

I am a big fan of guinness draught. I decided to try the extra stout one day, while walking through WalMart beleive it or not. I was not disappointed. when I popped the cap my nose was instantly gratified, which was accompanied by a rich coffee flavor with a slight bitter aftertaste. Usually I have a pint glass on hand, but this day I did not. I could not judge color of the body through the bottle, but I could see a rich light brown head peeking at me through the bottle.

Bottled:
Deep brown head. Much carbonation, roasted aroma, light fresh. Astringent flavor, roasted malt in the end. Dry bitterness.

Bought in Nordhorn (D), 4,1% on the label. Other country, other beer laws, so this is the "Reinheitsgebot-Guinness". Lighter colored as the usual Guinness, the head disappears fat. Roasted malt aroma with some chocolate . Also a roasted flavor, but very smooth, with some fruit and chocolate. Thin to medium bodied. Lighter in flavor as the "normal" Guinness, but I really like this beer. A bargain for only $ 0,90 a bottle.

Bottled. Pitch black colour. Slightly off-white head, but quickly fading. Coffeish, roastmalty aroma. Dry, coffeish, roastmalty taste. This one is way better than regular Guinness, but afterall too dry and from my perspective the coffeish, bitter-chocolatey flavours of a stout cry for a little sweetness. Therefore only a little above average in my book.

Smoky, roasty gragrance, vreamy head covering a very dark stout. But there is little less, it is too dry, no bitterness, not much flavor at all. This beer looks and smells interesting, but tastes disappointingly.
