33 cL bottle with bbd in 2003 (2001 vintage) and 2000 (1998 vintage) tasted in 2007. Pours deep brown to black with a light brown head. Slight alcohol aroma in a deep roasted malt nose. flavour is oldish, same for both. Rerate needed of a fresh - doesn’t gain from ageing.

Vintage 1998 Guinness Continental extra stout Bottle. Large brown head that mostly lasted. Excellent lacework. Pitch black color. Aroma of light coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and earthy like feel. Hint of liquorish as well. Unfortunately too old. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and light dry texture. Light bitter and sweet flavor. Light dry and bitter finish.

Big fluffy light chocolate head quickly reduced to a thin layer of foam. Near black colored body with a dark mahogny glow. Smells dry malty with a a lot of roast and rough hops. Notes of dark dried fruits, coffee and ash. Fairly dry malt taste, with some noteable earthy hops and dark fruits. Salty and light sour tones. Well-bodied for a 5% abv. Roasty and bitter finish. Mmm.

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of coffee, some chocolate, some sweet hints. Tastes slightly on the sweet side with some roasty malt hints. Mouthfeel is a little on the thin side. Finish is of pepper.

Bottle shared by Badgerben at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a creamy llight tan head that dissolves to an off-white ring and some film. Aroma of light roasted dark malt, a touch of coffee and dark pitted fruit. Taste is full bodied, lightly carbonated with a flavor of dark roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and a touch of mild bitterness. Finish is dry with a toasted malt aftertaste.

Thanks to badgerben for sharing. Slighly sour nose with sweet toffee hints. Toffee and caramel on the body with roasted malt and some hops. Very good.
