Commercial Description:
Labatt's brew a pale ale base to which is added the unfermented but hopped Guinness wort extract. Guinness Extra Stout is brewed in Canada by Labatt under license from Arthur Guinness Son & Company. Editor's Note: It looks like Moosehead is also brewing Guinness. Bottles in the US are from there of late, but Canadian bottles are still showing Labatt. 04/23/06

not good. Thin, watery, only real flavor is the astringent acidic aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours a jet black with a two finger creamy head. Leaves lacing on the side of the glass. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, deep brown sugar. Flavor is very robust, roasted malts. Very rich and creamy. Great aftertaste. Very good beer.

Pint draft. Poured a dark chocolate with a thick creamy head which lasted for the entire duration of the drink, with heavy lacing. Aroma of malt, chocolate, and brown sugar. Accents strongly of chocolate and coffee with a subtle alcohol finish. A little boring and lacking in complexity, but better than most widely distributed beers. I was not thinking about the beer while eating my accompanying meal of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, which is unfortunate, and indicates its uninterestingness. I suppose I have been spoiled by the Belgian Trappists for too long. Still a tasty beer.

Smoky, roasted aftertaste. Very "milky", creamy texture. Drank from bottle, 6pack bought locally in East Texas. Foamy burps. Overall, not as much flavor as one would expect from such a thick, dark brew!

a beautiful pour with a nice light brown/tan head. taste is of smoky/lightly burnt coffee, the aroma though is its best feature. this was a dollar cheaper than regular guiness (i dont know why) a sixer but nothing more special than its brother. good beer.

Poured with a light brown head. Dark roasted coffee on the nose. Flavors of dark chocolate and roasted coffee with a pleasant bitterness on the finish. An absolute classic.

Poured a dark rich black with a creamy brown head. Slight coffee aromas rise through and each drink is greeted with coffee flavors and just a little hint of bitterness. absolutely delicious.

pours a very deep brown-black color with a thick mocha head. nice retention and lacing. very malty aroma with caramel, and burnt toffee. flavor is also malty and displays caramel sweetness followed by a light roastiness. mouthfeel a little thin for my stout tastes but not watery.
