| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Pint draft. Poured a dark chocolate with a thick creamy head which lasted for the entire duration of the drink, with heavy lacing. Aroma of malt, chocolate, and brown sugar. Accents strongly of chocolate and coffee with a subtle alcohol finish. A little boring and lacking in complexity, but better than most widely distributed beers. I was not thinking about the beer while eating my accompanying meal of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, which is unfortunate, and indicates its uninterestingness. I suppose I have been spoiled by the Belgian Trappists for too long. Still a tasty beer. mechelecengr (1), Texas, USA does not count | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 27, 2009 Smoky, roasted aftertaste. Very "milky", creamy texture. Drank from bottle, 6pack bought locally in East Texas. Foamy burps. Overall, not as much flavor as one would expect from such a thick, dark brew! mweber962000 (70), Illinois, USA
