This beer and Sierra Nevada pale ale turned me onto flavorful beer. Until last night, I hadn’t had one of these in a couple of years. It was very one dimensional, all roasted malt on flavor and aroma. and the aroma was pretty soft. Not very special - one was fine, but I went for the SN pale for my second. movezig (137), Pensacola, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 20, 2008 Black pour dark amber head. Nose was smokey as well as the taste. Great stout when at close to room tempature. Roasty. good. BeerBunker (607), Burbank, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 11, 2008 Pours dark brown with a brown head. Aroma is of malts and some coffee. Taste is far more bitter than the draught version. The bitterness in each sip is followed by the taste of lightly roasted malts and bread. Not very drinkable and somewhat dissapointing. 1010 (208), Marysville, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 7, 2008 Pours black with a tan head that disapates. Tastes of malt, however not a strong taste. Extremely drinkable due to the lack of depth.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 5, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is very malty and nutty. Taste is of roasted malts and coffee up front with slight bitterness towards the back. The carbonation is alright, but nowhere near the mouthfeel of regular Guinness on a nitrogen tab. Still a good and decently drinkable beer. mattwix (6), Arizona, USA does not count | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 5, 2008 Updated: Oct 7, 2008I’ve enjoyed this beer many, many times! It’s the best of all "Guinness" products available in N. America, regardless of whether it’s brewed in Dublin or eh? Canada? alexsdad06 (1081), Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 4, 2008 Bottled. Pours a very dark brown color with a large thick tan head. Lighter aroma of roasted malt and dark chocolate. The flavor is lighter biscuity malt, some roast, dark chocolate. This is lighter in body and has a dry slightly bitter finish. wilderthanyou (416), Guelph, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 28, 2008 Pours a motor oil black with a beige frothy head. Aroma is roasted malts, and light coffee notes, pretty mild and uninteresting. Flavour is mild to begin with, but as the beer washes to the back of the mouth the flavour opens up with roasted malts, barley, and coffee. Finishes on a unsweetened chocolate note. Earlier Rating: 7/15/2007 Total Score: 3.4 Pitch black with a thin froathy head. Aroma is weak smoked malt. The flavour is mainly roasted malts, with notes of dark chocolate with a semi sweet finish. The palat has the right amount of carbonation, with a velvety smooth mouth feel. Not a bad beer in any way, just nothing fantastic. Nothing like the nitro can version. They both have there ups and downs but this version is better overall.
