Couldnt pin point any unique aroma that differed from the Guinness Draught, which was malt and coffee in scent. The appearance is darker and the head was more tannish in color, but it did not stick around as long as with the nitro-can. Flavor was better than the draught, very nice roasted malt flavor. Overall it is a very good beer, just still surprised its only 5%! I think I need to try this on tap to re-evaluate and get a better impression. biggmike (480), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA

Pours a very dark almost black color with fluffy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts. Flavor seems to me to be a bit more bitter than the Draught. Also thinner mouthfeel due to the lack of nitrogen. Decent beer. Earlier Rating: 10/20/2006 Total Score: 3.4 Personally, what this gains in alcohol content over the Draught it loses in taste. Still a good beer, but not quite as good as the Draught. Much thinner also, with a more bitter taste. fata2683 (867), Panama City, Florida, USA

Pleasant, slightly sweet aroma. Less smooth and more dry than Guinness Draught with more carbonation and a less creamy aftertaste. One of those beers where I enjoy the second more than the first. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown/black, with a red hue when held to the light. The head is thin, clingy, pillow and tan in color. Taste is of roasted malt, smoke, hops and is bitter in the finish. Has more body than the regular Guinness Draught. Aroma matches the taste. Overall, this is a pretty enjoyable and fulfilling beer that isn’t bad to have occasionally. bluemooner (237), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
