Aroma is creamy roast, with much more chocolate than Guinness Pub draught and a slight black malt sourness that becomes morenoticeable once you taste it. Appearance is very dark brown with a well maintained fluffy off-white head. Flavor is a strong, somewhat roast/sour/bitter black malt forward followed by some dark fruit sweetness and near zero hop bittering, but some noticeable light flora. Mouthfeel is full bodied, with strong but not overpowering astringency, low carb texture, and a dry finish. Overall, there’s interesting complexity, but the black malt makes more than one of these questionable and refreshment unlikely. yngwie (4950), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 24, 2008 Bottle, shared by Maria. It poured a clear, reddish brown body, topped by a dense beige head. Slightly cellarish nose with cooked vegetables, roasted malt and some chocolate. Roasted, chocolatey, coffeeish flavor with a touch of vegetables. Chocolate finish. Dry, quite effervescent. It disappointed a bit, I sure didn’t expect the vegetables, but else it’s a decent brew. (080412) gunnfryd (3583), Kristiansand, Norway

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 21, 2008 Presentation: It was poured from a short brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. It has a very dark brown color that appears black and very opaque. Its head is thick and foamy with a tan color that leaves behind light tan lace on the glass. The aroma has dark roasted malt grains with a light hint of some nice aromatic and grassy hops. There is a full robust roasted grain flavor with a hint of brunt sweetness that quickly turns dry with some grassy and floral hops at add a perfect balance of bitterness to stand up to the malty goodness. On the palate it is starts of smooth then turns very dry and crisp inside of a very drinkable medium body with a nice bitter fading finish. It’s much fuller in flavor and body than its nitro injected Cousin Guinness Draft.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 20, 2008 I have to say, I cannot complain too much. For a mass produced Stout, you cant go wrong. I found the carbonation to be a bit on the heavy side, otherwise a very good palate. The rich coffee and chocolate roast flavor leaves a pleasant aftertaste, however, the initial aroma left a bit to be desired. My overall impression is in the not bad at all category. I would try it again, but I wont rush out to the store to get it again right away. I am a bigger fan of Guinness Draft cans I must admit. polomagnifico (533), Saginaw, Michigan, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 18, 2008 bottled. Aroma of roast caramel malt and very slight chocolate/coffee. Very dark brown/black with average off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lace. Flavor is roast caramel malt and a little coffee/chocolate. Palate is light and smooth with soft carbonation. Below average but at least you can buy it most anywhere. TheElder (49), DeSoto, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 16, 2008 Guinness Extra Stout tastes like a Sharpie marker smells with late hints of chocolate and caramel. Its fail proof. If you can’t decide on which beer to try next and you haven’t done your research you know that Guinness Extra Stout is there for you. Something you don’t have to think about; just drink. Underhook (162), Lincoln Park, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jun 16, 2008 I’m not a very big fan of the original Guinness, but I really liked this one. Much thicker, creamier palate than standard Guinness draft. Tastes fuller as well. Again, there are better stouts out there, but this one was pretty damn good.
