| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Apr 21, 2008 22oz Bottle, Toronto: Pours dark brown w/ a large tan head. Nice lacing. Caramel in the aroma & that’s about it. Okay, here’s where things get weird. How one can make Guinness taste like a cheap lager is beyond me, but somehow it has been done. My mind is blown, how the hell can this happen? Simply put, this is the suck. Christ...I can’t believe the rating didn’t come out lower... Enjoyit (1711), Vadum, Denmark

Pours a dark brown color, with a fluffy creamy head, and good lacing on the glass. Caramel aroma, as well as molasses, slight vanilla, and licorice. Flavors of roasted malts, some milk chocolate and dark candy. Very subdued overall, though. Smooth-bodied, dry, and easy to put back. ILoveNewBeer (113), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 18, 2008 It smells a little skunky. DARK reddish-brown in color. I still like the regular Guinness a lot more than this, maybe the one brewed in Jamaica is better than the North American version. BeerEssential (96), Massachusetts, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 12, 2008 From a 1 pint bottle: pours with a decent, grey-brown head, but it’s not as creamy smooth as the typical pint poured in a pub. Nice, bready aroma. Taste is as expected. The basic standard...smooth, easy drinking and not very bitter or harsh. edden (927), cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 10, 2008 Wow, I didn’t know that there were so many versions of this beer. I believe mine is this one, as I got it at my corner AliBaba’s which is in no way a specialty shop, however this one has Guinness Brewing Company in Toronto, not London, Canada. Oh well, my guess is that it’s the same shit, but maybe the editor’s note should be updated, if necessary. In any event, this is a beer that’s hard to dislike. Robust flavor and rich appearance and drinking experience. Pours viscously with a 1/32 inch film. I taste coffee and musk. Very smooth and widely available, I’m glad I tried this for the first time in a while, as this may become a "go to" in places with limited selection in the future. So the best part of this beer is that it’s good, affordable, and relatively speaking, widely available.
