| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 9, 2008 Pours a dark black color from a bottle with a full lacing head. Dry sour aroma. Also a dry almost tart flavor, not a bad beer but not my favorite stout by far. GMUcrew7 (360), Mason, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 8, 2008 Haven’t had the extra stout in a few years, mostly drink the regular draught when I drink Guinness. Aroma is pleasant, mostly roastyness, hints of chocolate. The flavor is similar, the roasted malts are the main flavor, other flavors are present in the background. Nothing special, I don’t like it as much as the draught, but not bad for a stout that you can get pretty much anywhere. rman18 (201), South Amboy, New Jersey, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 6, 2008 I LOVE GUINNESS - I don’t like this one. I heard its the same as the draft but with CO2 instead of Nitrogen. Not really sure if that is true - The beer pours DARK red like all guinnesses - large cream head. The palate is sort of bubbly and the flavor is just strong for sake of being strong. Not a favorite. Earlier Rating: 2/6/2007 Total Score: 3.3 Looks Good, feels good but this beer has hardly any aroma to it and doesn’t have much more in flavor. It better then most at most American pubs, but thats not saying much.
Not bad, but certainly not good. dlovell2 (140), Columbia, Maryland, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 4, 2008 Pours completely black with a fluffy whiteish head that disappears quickly. Some decent lacing. Aroma is almost a sour note, not much malt at all. Taste is much of the same, a bit sour, yet nicely dry on the finish. Some notes of burnt malt come through. Also a little thin. Decent beer, but I like most other stouts much better. HoppyGuy (111), USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 1, 2008 OK, I first had this brew about 30 years ago, and it’s still my go-to for stout. I really like the dark color, with thin tan head and fine carbonation. The caramel and roasted barley aroma and flavor place this brew above many other competitors. There is a silky mouthfeel, and a nice, warm aftertaste. I really like to pair this beer with pepperoni pizza (my wife likes it with anchovy pizza).
