I really like the aftertaste and the lingering flavor. Unlike most Guinness, this is less textured and more taste. dkazuk (247), winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Pours a deep black colour with a medium sized tan head that fades mostly. Roasted malt aroma with hints of caramel and chocolate. Similar flavour with a sour, bitter and somewhat dry finish. 184601 (144), Mexicali, Mexico

This dark beer has great aroma toasted, dry, just like its flavor which i think its nice a little bit syrupy and well toasted , but typical guinness taste, the palate was creamy and sour at the same time. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Bottle (12oz). Irish beer, brewed in Canada, purchased in Buffalo. Deep ruby-brown pour, clear yet almost opaque, with a huge fluffy tan lasting head. The aroma’s quite light, and I had this at high cellar tempurature - mild roast coffee and root beer syrup, vaguely herbal. It’s a nice balance between dry grassy bitterness and dry over-roast coffee/molasses sweet malt - seems a tad watery, and there’s only minimal carbonation, but the sticky malt body is somewhat balanced in the finish by dry bitterness - not all that bad, really - pretty light yet roasty. lweiberg (89), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 2, 2008 I bought a sixer of this for $8.99+tax last night because I was at a St. Cloud liquor store that barely had anything decent and I was very disappointed, even though I had low expectations. What’s the deal with people’s respect for Guinness? Is it because it’s an old brand and people are suckers for brand loyalty and identifying with certain brands, particularly ones that claim a tradition steeped in excellence with a long history? It certainly seems so given that you can buy Guinness clocks, glasses, shirts, etc., but this beer just ain’t special. Capa (970), Yokosuka, Japan
