| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Better than the canned draught version with nitrogen, almost as good as the draught pulled from a tap. Nice aroma lacks any hop aroma. Looks great, black with a nice rocky head. Flavor is straight forward with a very dry finish on the dry side. Nothing complex about Guinness, just good ole dark roasted goodness. The mouthfeel of the Extra Stout is far superior to canned draught, though it’s a bit too bitter like it has just a tad too much black patent malt. A bottle of this never disappoints. efrumtheidiot (190), Maryland, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Dec 10, 2007 pours a dark brownish black ith a light brown head. aroma is coffee, roast malt, some vanilla, milk. taste is pretty much the same. starts off wet & heavy giving way to a nice roasty malt flavor that finishes smooth and bitter. for an uber-massproduced brew, this one’s pretty good. i like this one better than the draught. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2007 Pours thick black into the pint glass with a huge tan head. Scents of chocolate, cream, vanilla and coffee. Dry, thick body with tastes of roasted malt and coffee. More robust than the can and on tap. Hammster (187), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 7, 2007 24 oz. bottle. After a vigorous pour, very dark brown color with a dark head of modest size. NO cascade : ( Aroma was very faint and smelled like dried apricot, coffee, and molasses--more complex than I remember Guinness. Taste is burnt chocolate malts--flat and dry. Tastes like prunes. It goes w/o saying that the draft is better. dchmela (1430), Orlando, Florida, USA
