Commercial Description:
Labatt's brew a pale ale base to which is added the unfermented but hopped Guinness wort extract. Guinness Extra Stout is brewed in Canada by Labatt under license from Arthur Guinness Son & Company. Editor's Note: It looks like Moosehead is also brewing Guinness. Bottles in the US are from there of late, but Canadian bottles are still showing Labatt. 04/23/06

Bottle. Very dark brown to almost black in color with nice off-white fluffy head that lasts and makes a wonderful lacing on glass. Aroma of dark roasted malt with hints of coffee. Earthy flavor of dark malt and coffee. Very good mouthfeel. Not too thin ot thick. Pretty decent beer. Easy to drink.

I love the Guinness Extra Stout with anything. It has strong flavor and creamy finish.

Deep, brown color with a thick head that dissipates faster than I’d like. Tastes of coffee with hints of molasses. I prefer not to drink it right after taking it from the fridge, warmer temperature brings out better flavors. My favorite of beers so far.

I like this one a bit better than the draught - a bit more of a true stout. Black, coffee colored, and nice complexity to the malt flavors.

Bottle. Pours black with a medium tan colored head. Faint scent of malt and maybe dark roasted malt. A little bitter and the coffee comes a little through. The finish is definitely dry. I prefer Guinness sans nitrogen.

Imported by Diageo. pour is black with a medium size tan head, okay lacing.
smell of ash, coffee, cocoa, sour malt, touch of licorice.
taste is dry, sour, dark unsweetened chocolate, ends somewhat bitter.

A beautiful beer, with a pleasant bread like aroma and just the right amount of bittering hops. This is a great stout perfect for drinking in big creamy gulps.
