| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 20, 2007 Got it for quite low price. It has this roasted grains flavour and sweetness that defines Foreign’s, but it has this sour flaour that is not so strong in the other three versions I have had. jazz88 (2238), San Francisco, California, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 24, 2007 Kenyan version, 300 ml bottle. Dark black beer with a thick dark brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roast, and a very tart fresh green herbal character. Very roasty aroma with some vegetal off-notes, especially as it starts to warm up. The sour aroma is also there serving as a counterpoint to the chocolate and roast. However, the vegetal aspect of this just doesn’t work. The off-notes remind me of the North American brewed version of Guinness Extra Stout. Not terribly malty or complex. Moderate bitterness and light acidity on the finish. A bit of a disappointment, really. decaturstevo (2004), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 3, 2006 Thanks Suttree for this one. A dark brown pour but far from black. An aroma of taosted malt and chooclate. A musty off flavor appears shortly after the drink. A chocolate flavor with a hint of alcohol at the end. A slightly weak palate. A bitter finish that really bites you hard on the back and sides of your tongue. Not very fond of it but glad I got to try it.
