Pours with a a frothy head which quickly disipates. Aroma is almost chocolate/coffee. And the taste is rather surprising, to me it tastes like sultanas and dried fruit, very nice and not unpleasant.
I am assuming this beer was bottle conditioned too as it had sediment on the bottom of the bottle.
All in all probably one of the best stouts I’ve ever had, and what Guinness should be like!

Oct 27, 2008 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small, light brown head, and a very dark brown body. Aroma of currants, tar, berries and cocoa powder. Taste is tar, musk, some chocolate, and some coffee. Lightly bubbley.

Oct 26, 2008 bottle from bu11zeye. pitch black pour with a thin caramel head. smooth bitter sweet chocolate and malts on the nose. great thickness on the palate. awesome flavor of bittersweet chocolate, roasted malts and some lactose. smooth fruity finish.

Sep 30, 2008 Courtesy hopscotch. Black pour, little bits of broken white head. Chalky, sweet dark malt aroma, slight lactose presence. Thinnish palate. Mild sweet notes over slight roast, some lactose on the back end. Decent, but palate suffers a bit.

Although restrained, the aroma is nutty, buttery and chocolaty... rich and wonderful. Full-bodied and creamy with soft carbonation. Chocolaty, vinous and acidic.
