Commercial Description:
Higher in alcohol content than other Guinness products, this stout has a strong, oaky, complex flavor.

Editor’s Note: This is the standard FES. Sometimes it is imported from Ireland but more often it is brewed locally. This version is most common in the Caribbean and Africa. All versions from those places, save for Jamaica, Nigeria and Ghana should be rated here.

Wow- I like Guinness but I really liked this brew. Had from bottle at a crappy hotel in boston area. This is the only good thing about this stay. Nice smokey flavor - nice bitter kick. very nice surprise for my 50th rating! Cheers!

Bottle 330ml from Waitrose, Christchurch. Pours black with a good beige head. Aroma has a distinct molasses background. Reasonably full bodied. Much better than its traditional cousin.

Pours a dark opaque black colour with a small brown head. Taste is chocolatey, noticeable pepper and black cherry flavors. Aroma is sort of woody with hints of black licorice.

Botella. Pitch black colour with a nice light brown head. Good lacing. Nice soft mouthfeel. The flavour has a very good soft roasty maltiness with some bitter chocolate and light coffee.

Bottle. [thank you, faroeviking]
Pours almost black with slight red edges. A fine, creamy, beige-yellow head. Great lacing. Aroma is sweet roasty, some nuttiness and a bit of plums. Good mouthfeel, dry and creamy. Flavour is surprisingly dry, harsh roasted notes, a bit vinious. This is a good brew, but nothing exceptional.

Black coloured beer with a large brown creamy head. Light alcoholic malty roasted coffee and compact aroma. Creamy full roasted and bitter palate. Finish is bitter roasted with some coffee and creamy light alcoholic touches. nice balanced, good one.

Bottle from The Bottleneck, Broadstairs: Poured a rich black with a niuce tan head. Lot of chocolate flavours, the alcohol makes itself known very quickly. Not as good as it’s Nigerian brother, but a very nice stout nonetheless.
