Guinness is great to drink anywhere even in El Salvador. Pours the classic, deep brown color with a beatiful tan head. Beefy, coffee, chocolate, delicious.... fattibobatti (246), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 12, 2008 had a friend bring me a bottle back from his trip through europe. pours pitch black with none of that heavy carbonation like stock guinness. large tan head that fades fast. very strong smell of malt and a little coffee. the taste is big heavy malt that fades into a dry coffee and a little dark chocolate finish. did a good job of hiding any alcohol. oops forgot to rate first time... davegore (202), liverpool, Merseyside, England

Is this really the same brand even that is sold in pubs on tap??. Very special. redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA

Poured a deep brown color with ruby highlights and a nice tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and some coffee. Flavor is mostly roasted malts, with some chocolate and coffee, and a bit of bitterness and nuttiness on the finish. Pretty nice. joe19612 (692), camberley, Surrey, England

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 18, 2007 Thanks to Homerwantsbeer for sharing a bottle from his travels. The beer pours nearly black with a bit of amber around the edges. Medium thick and foamy dark beige head that dissipates steadily, and rings of lacing. The aroma consists of coffee, roasted malt and molasses. Rich, roasty body with coffee, chocolate and burnt malt flavors. Some bitter hops shine through as well. The finish is bitter coffee and hops with malty/chocolatey undertones. Leaves a hoppy aftertaste that lingers awhile. Miles better than the "regular" Guinness. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 12, 2007 I like the Nigerian version better for its syrup qualities but this one has the complexity regular Guinness lacks such as a heavier cereal mix with more bitter tones, roastedness and well hidden alcohol. I would say this is better crafted than the Nigerian cousin I just sipped but it seems a bit overloaded as far as flavors are concerned.
