Commercial Description:
Higher in alcohol content than other Guinness products, this stout has a strong, oaky, complex flavor.

Editor’s Note: This is the standard FES. Sometimes it is imported from Ireland but more often it is brewed locally. This version is most common in the Caribbean and Africa. All versions from those places, save for Jamaica, Nigeria and Ghana should be rated here.

A black appearance with a moderate beige head. The aroma is filled with tobacco and smoke. The flavor is very smokey with a bittersweet taste. There is a kiwi fruit and sour berry backbone. This was very different from your other standard Guinness stouts. Not the greatest but still enjoyable.

Massive off whitish head. Nutty, fruity, and tangy with smoky notes and the traditional guinness bitterness coming through. Sof on the togue. Very enjoyable.

Bottled. Fantastic aroma; sharp fresh dough, really fruitcake-like. Jet black body with a veneer of coffee coloured froth for a head. Big malt and roasty flavours in this, but the slightly sour aftertaste is a bit of a suckerpunch.

Deep black color, short brown head. Aroma of black and roasted malts, coffee with cream, chocolate, hint of alcohol, some artificial strawberry milky something. Taste is sweet, roasted malts, some sour creamy tone. Sweet sour aftertaste and slightly bitter with a sticky palate.

Aroma consists of heavily roasted malts (coffee/chocolate) and some cream or lactic essent. Opaque black coloured with a thin brown lasting head (not as creamy as the original guinness). Taste is heavily roasted malty, coffee/chocolate, again something creamy/lactic, quite bitter and too sweet. Even fruity this stout is. The palate is quite sticky.

A black beer with a chocolate brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of roasted bread and malt. The flavor is nicely roasted with notes of smoke and roasted bread. It really gives You the warmth - it is almost so thick that You have to chew it. A really nice beer.

Dark brown beer with a tall tan head. Bitter and dry malty and smoky aroma. Flavor is sweet to begin with but turns bitter hoppy. Also roasted malt, coffee and some smoke notes. Very flavorfull and a thick mouthful.

Deep brown, near black in colour, coffee coloured head. Aroma was of deep roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and licorice. Flavour had some alcohol coming through, roasty, quite bitter, chocolate, moalsses, dry with a slight sourness. Medium/large body. Finishes with a long lingering bitterness. Very nice.
