Pours dark brown with a medium brown head. Light roasted malt and brown sugar aroma. The flavour is roasted malt, smoke and brown sugar. Medium bodied and soft carbonation is present. Low bitterness in the finish. As echoed by many this is a lot better than the regular draught. stfrancis (17), Heffingen, Luxembourg

Lighter palate than the draught version, lots of dry roasted barley, but lacking compared to the Belgian Special export Guiness. A once off for this Irish man Pinball (2797), Allerød, Denmark

absurdly huge head, light brown, smooth, thick. pours pitch black.
lightly sour sweetish aroma , i don’t like the aroma. roasted grains, booze also in the aroma.flavor is sweet, sugar, roasted stuff, chocolate, ends very roasted yet still mild. alc. well hidden. seems to me to have a little less complexity compared to ordinary guiness. jonno (572), Brisbane, Australia
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Obviously better than guiness, but still pales to others of its type, such as Lion Stout. Macro taste permiates though the whole thing. Limited in complexity, but I will admit it has a nice malt body. Nothing out of the ordinary. Cheap though Sparky27 (1595), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2009 Bottle courtesy of Rustychiles – thanks Rusty! Pours midnight black with a 2 finger foamy tan head that leaves spotty lacing. The nose is charred malt and faint cocoa. The taste is coffee, burnt malt, ashy cocoa and even some hoppy bitterness in the finish. Medium creamy mouthfeel. Much better than the US version. Thanks again Rusty! | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 19, 2009 Updated: May 20, 2009Bottle from Puerto Rico via rustychiles. Pours black with a decent-sized chestnut head. Aroma is more boozy and roasty than traditional Guinness. Taste is quite a bit boozier, roastier, smokey, and oaky. Hints of chocolate in the background of both the aroma and taste. It tastes quite a bit like they let it ferment at a much higher temperature than standard Guinness as well. I get some higher-alcohol phenols. Far less drinkable than standard Guinness, but really nice to try. The tannins and higher alcohols make it really difficult to drink an entire pint of this. sm89walt (450), Canterbury, Kent, England
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 18, 2009 33cl bottle. A black beer with a fine, foamy beige head. A good combination of sweetness, subtle coffee tones, chocolate, roasted malts and toasted bread notes on the nose. The flavours are of roasted malt, bitter chocolate with some liquorice and some smokiness. Dry, burnt bitterness and a warming quality in the finish. Thick mouthfeel that envelopes the palate and lasts well. graham515 (424), Houston, Texas, USA
