Heaps better than all the other Guinness beers in their cataolgue. better than the other Guinness ive tried .

dark as night with a thick dark beige layer on the beer its thick and smooth in mouth smells malty, with a good roastyness some chocolate coffee and toffee and a bit of dried fruits tasts of toffee, chocolate, dried pears or even a bit of birnel (thats a thick cooked dark brown spread made of pearjuice,wellknown in switzerland and used for example for glazing the lebkuchen,a spice-cake) aftertaste is roasty, toffee,chocolate,bittersweet an intense beer

No 650 Rated 27 12 2008 Bottel brown, 330 ml, Appearance pours practically non see throught, pitch black, not transparent at all body with very mild but practically non visible saturation, body is visually full and quite high in gravity with high plato grade I suppose, head is thick, compact, nut brown, dense, irregular, creamy, initially huge, very stable, very slowly decreasing to medium with perfect lacing, Aroma dark bread, burned sugar, caramel, plum, prune, resin, cherry, wallnut, peanut, peanut butter, raisin, dry wood, roastyness, dark malt, creamy soft, mellowy but highly and apart from all of that rich in hoppy earthy scent and tangy tannine influences, on the other hand its very crisp and clean, mastercraft, Flavour heavy, full bodied, very essential and strong dryness but also very smooth, still not that smooth as some Irish Dry Stout, but alcohol is perfectly hidden under the woody roasty crisp malt and becomes present only in the aftertaste but in a very pleasant way as in some good English WInter Warmer, very bready, nutty and roasty with gentle red fruity but very gentle nose manifesting prune, cherries and plum, finish duration is long with smoky nose, Palate body is full, trxture is very dry, carbonation on palate is gentle, finish feel is chalky, dusty, roasty, smoky, kind of salty with pleasant alcoholic warmth

I am enjoying my last night in Dublin with a bottle purchased at the Guinness Storehouse. I had to use the outdoors as a refrigerator and purchase a cheap souvenir bottle opener key chain, but here goes I have to drink it before I leave. Pours a thick black with the typical creamy microbubbly head. Its a tan color, a bit darker than the usual Guinness. The aroma and flavor are both much more intense. Lots of cream, caramel and toffee on the nose. Similar flavor which then dissolves into a dry bitter coffee. Alcohol and hops finish and bitterness lingers on the tongue. I enjoy Guinness, I averaged about 2 a night for the past week but I have never found it to be a spectacular beer. This is good though and by far the best Guinness.

12 oz botte - pours an almost blackish, coffee color with a dark tan head that stuck around for much of the beer. Smelled of chocolate, coffee and malt - sweet taste to this beer that indicated chocolate but the coffee flavoring reigned it in a bit. Decent Stout with a nice roasted coffee, if not flat, finish.

33cl bottle, 7.5% abv. Pitch black colour with a thick and dense brown foamy head. Moderately sweet roasted malty aroma with notes of dark chocolate, coffee and a tinge of alcohol, accompanied by very subtle hints of blackcurrant. Bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a smooth, almost creamy carbonation. Solid roasty malty base with burnt bitterness, notes of coffee, chocolate and licorice. Dry and lasting bitter finish with a subtle fruity and roasty aftertaste. The alcohol is well-hidden. Not as exciting as initially expected, but surely a quaffable Stout [02.XII.08].

33cl botttle @ VinensVerden, Odense. Pours black with a creamy brown head & lacings. Nose is milky chocolate, light roast & dark dried fruits. Creamy & smooth mouthfeel. Taste has mild roasted coffee notes & chocolate. Sticky palate. This is just wonderful, could drink this everyday!

Bottle, Courtesy of Slothez. Had forgotten about this which is quite widely available and far superior to bog standard Guinness. Black pour with a fair light brown head. Soft roasted malts mix with chocolate and light coffee notes. Smooth and creamy with a well rounded body and some bitterness in the finish. Not as good as the Belgian version but still pretty tasty.
