Bottle thanks to Doppelganger. Pours a pure black body with an amazing beige head. It sits atop the beer floating and towering like a mountain. The aroma is mostly rich roasted malts, some hops and metallic notes. The taste is very complex; the initial pour is quite bitter and full of roasted notes, the finish is sweet fruit and finally more bitter burnt coffee. As it warms there is more of a metallic and woody flavor, with berries and liquorice, and always roasted malt. Very good, so complex and so damn tasty. A great mouthfeel and a nice alcohol warmth. As it warms it gets a lot sweeter. My quest for Guinness continues. Thanks Casey.

Dec 2, 2008 33cl botttle @ VinensVerden, Odense. Pours black with a creamy brown head & lacings. Nose is milky chocolate, light roast & dark dried fruits. Creamy & smooth mouthfeel. Taste has mild roasted coffee notes & chocolate. Sticky palate. This is just wonderful, could drink this everyday!

Black pour with a fair light brown head. Soft roasted malts mix with chocolate and light coffee notes. Smooth and creamy with a well rounded body and some bitterness in the finish. Not as good as the Belgian version but still pretty tasty.

Oct 23, 2008 Bottle in St. Croix. Poured a dark black with a two finger brown head. Aroma of liquorice and roasted malt. Flavor was sweet and nutty. Good but not great.

Oct 23, 2008 Bottle from just about anywhere i go. Dark black body with a tan 2 finger head. Nutty sweet and malty, bitter with lightly roasted coffee, more etoh then the original.

Oct 21, 2008 This was refreshing after a previous sub par stout I had. A complex blackcurrant and liquorice aroma blends with those lovely burnt roast aromas. follows through into an oily mouth feel thats full of flavour and enough hops to round it out. cracking stuff.
