Commercial Description:
Guinness North Star Brew is the third stout in the Brewhouse series. Brewed using lightly blended malts to produce a silky, well-rounded finish, it is a pint of rare distinction that is named in honor of the Brewer's Star.

Looks like guiness tastes like guiness, rounded smooth malt with light bitter linger

On tap at the brewery. Black color with a large head. Light aroma of a flowery English hop. The taste and body is very similar to regular Guinness with a slightly sweet almost sour malt base and a bit of bitterness, but North Star seems to have a bit of the coffee and chocolate character that is common with many microbrew stout. Not vastly superior to regular Guinness, but a little step up in my opinion.

Very round and smooth, with most traces of roasted malt viped out. Not unpleasant, but rater boring.

On tap at Temple Bar. I somehow missed entering this rating from my trip to Ireland Pours opaque black with a large tan head, much like the black stuff. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, pine and coffee. Taste is similar to the original, but may be a little smoother? Difficult to tell without a a side-by side rating.

On tap at the Long Hall, Dublin. Third in the stout series. Looks similar to Guinness but less black. Coffee and caramel flavor. Cappucino, actually. Not sure I could handle more than one of these. Fun to try in Dublin.

Draft, Quality Inn, Cork City, IRE. Roasty aroma, light chocolate notes. Taste is much like the regular Guinness, but didn’t have the mettalic aspec to it, wasn’t bad at all.

(draught - Shannon Airport) A bit darker black than regular Guinness with nice tan head. Roast malt aroma. Flavor is roast malt with some coffee; maybe a bit fuller bodied than regular Guinness.

Quite a coffee taste to it, looks identical to Guinness but seems a little more watery, not the best of the Brewhouse series to date
